Curcumall® Fights Flu

The extensive antiviral effects of curcumin against different viral pathogens nominate it as an effective natural antiviral drug.  The antiviral properties of curcumin, have a direct effect on influenza infections, or their prevention. According to a study published in a 2009, curcumin can reduce viral replication by over 90 percent in laboratory cells infected with influenza varieties. Curcumin decreased viral replication in infected cells, but also seemed to protect other cells from becoming infected. The researchers suggest that curcumin-rich turmeric is a viable candidate for treating influenza naturally, as it can interfere with the replication process in viruses and other...

Turmeric and the Cardiovascular System

Study: One Glass of Turmeric Is as Good as Running for One Hour A recent study which was published in the American Journal of cardiology, claims that turmeric extract can lower the risks of heart attack by up to 56%. This study supports an earlier research published in 2012 in the Nutrition Research Journal which showed that turmeric can be as effective as an aerobic exercise in improving heart health.  The reserachers of the current study claim that the effect of turmeric on the cardiovascular system can be compared to an hour of brisk walking or jogging. Curcumin, the...

Study: Turmeric repairs the brain and increases stem cell growth

A new study published in the journal Stem Cell Research & Therapy suggests that turmeric could be used to treat neuro-degenerative diseases and help in repairing the brain following an injury. In order to examine the effects of turmeric on brain cells, scientists first bathed the neural stem cells (NSCs), which are stem cells found within adult brains, in extracts of aromatic tumerone- a chemical found in turmeric. Amazingly, they observed in the brain, up to 80 percent more stem cell growth when compared to the control, which used no chemical. Multiple studies have shown that turmeric has many health benefits, including the ability...

Anti-Inflammatory Diet

Turmeric and its active ingredient Curcumin are well known to be the most powerful anti-inflammatory supplements.  According to the clinical master herbalist Donnie Yance, chronic conditions such as arthritis, cardiovascular disease and cancer have a strong link with chronic inflammation. A major inducer of inflammation is the transcription protein Nuclear Factor-kappa Beta (NfKB).  An ever-growing body of evidence suggests that the daily use of curcumin can play an important role in blocking COX-2 the enzyme that causes inflammation and is induced by NfKB.  Curcumin has been shown to block the inflammatory process and thus prevent a variety of chronic...
